Martin and Felix arrived a week ago in Langkawi, preparations meant to finalize a number of projects of which the biggest were changing hatch seals and get new sofa cushions. We learned that low costs bilge pumps have their limitations, so we replaced them quickly. However, the newly arrived inflatable hypalon fenders for the stern are great. Preparations included numerous trips to shopping centers carrying loads of groceries and spare parts to YUNI.
The stop at the fuel station poured over 800 liters of fuel in the main tanks and 20 jerry cans. We are now carrying over 1000 liters of diesel for the trip around the Malaysian peninsula. We have to anticipate headwind in the Malacca Straits at that time of the year, so unfortunate not much sailing.
And at the end of most evenings we went to see a soccer game, at a cozy place were all yachties meet to cheer for their teams. A perfect week to start our journey.
Tomorrow morning we will leave Telaga Marina. The paperwork is done and we are ready to go. One more night of rest and good sleep. A last game to watch. And than we are on our way to Terengganu. By car 3-4 hours from Langkawi, by sail boat 11-12 days. The crew consists of 2 more additional skippers.
We hope for fair winds and smooth seas.
